In recent days, incidents of vandalism, graffiti, and arson have again targeted religious and residential properties belonging to Jewish communities in cities such as Sydney and Melbourne. These actions, which appear to be linked to the escalation of the Israel-Palestine conflict, including activities by proxy groups of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Middle East, are deeply concerning. These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the dangers of importing international conflicts into Australia’s multicultural and harmonious society.

We strongly affirm that all communities in Australia, regardless of their backgrounds or external affiliations, have the right to live in peace and safety. Bringing external conflicts into this nation not only undermines social cohesion but also fosters instability and insecurity for all.
Acts of violence or hostility by one group against another, risk normalising aggression and setting a dangerous precedent that could ultimately affect all ethnic and cultural groups in Australia.

The Australian-Iranian Community Organisation unequivocally condemns these actions in particular and all forms of violence and hostility driven by nationality, ethnicity, religion, or politics.
We call on all individuals and communities to demonstrate patience and understanding and to ensure that overseas disputes are not allowed to disrupt the peace and unity of our society.
