Our Mission and Vision

Mission

AICO’s mission is to support the Iranian community in Australia by providing essential services, advocating for our rights, and celebrating our rich cultural heritage. We strive to empower individuals and families, helping them to navigate life in Australia while staying connected to their roots.

Our History

Established decades ago, AICO has grown from a small grassroots initiative into a cornerstone of the Iranian community in Australia. From our humble beginnings, we have expanded our services and reach, adapting to the changing needs of our community while staying true to our founding principles.

1980s

AIC was founded by a group of dedicated Iranian Australians who saw the need for a unified community voice.

1990s

Expanded our services to include social support and cultural programs, establishing our first community center.

2000s

Gained recognition as the peak body representing the Iranian community in Australia, forging strong partnerships with government and non-government organizations.

Today

AIC continues to grow, with a focus on providing comprehensive services and fostering a strong, cohesive community.

Acknowledgments

AIC proudly acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which our main office is located, the Darug people. We also pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who reside within this area, recognizing their enduring connection to the land.
We are also deeply grateful to the many individuals, organizations, and volunteers who have contributed to AIC’s success over the years. Your support and dedication have made our work possible, and we look forward to continuing our journey together.
